If you're a Filipino local business and you ignore GBP, you're invisible.

For local businesses in the Philippines, Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business, still widely called "GMB" by Filipino business owners) is the single most important marketing channel after your physical location. When a Filipino searches "[clinic / restaurant / law firm / barbershop / boutique / contractor] near me" or "[business type] [barangay or city]" — Google's response is the map pack: three businesses with their photos, ratings, and "Directions" buttons. If you're in those three, your phone rings. If you're not, your competitor's does.

The good news for Filipino businesses: most local competitors haven't done the work. Their profiles are half-built, last updated three years ago, missing categories, with stock photos and no review responses. The map pack in most Filipino cities is sitting there waiting for businesses willing to do the basic optimisation work consistently. The bad news: GBP isn't a one-time setup. It rewards consistency — fresh posts, recent photos, ongoing review responses, regular Q&A engagement. Set it once and walk away, and rankings decay within months.

What I deliver is full-stack GBP management built for the Philippine market. Pasig, Mandaluyong, Makati, BGC, Quezon City, Marikina, Antipolo, Cainta — plus provincial coverage for Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Pampanga, and beyond. PH-specific photo strategy (your customers want to see Filipino faces and Filipino spaces, not stock images), review request flows that work for Filipino customer behaviour, and content optimisation that captures the way Filipinos actually search — including Taglish queries that international consultants miss completely.

FAQ

Common GBP questions.

My GBP is suspended — can you help recover it?

Yes. GBP suspensions usually come from category mismatches, address issues (especially for service-area businesses), virtual office addresses, multiple profiles for the same business, or policy violations. Recovery requires a reinstatement request with proper evidence. I've handled multiple recoveries — most resolve within 1–4 weeks if the underlying issue is fixable.

Do I need a physical location, or can I do GBP as a service-area business?

Both work. Storefronts list a public address; service-area businesses (plumbers, electricians, mobile services) list service areas without a public address. Service-area businesses are slightly harder because they can't show in the standard map pack, but they can rank for "near me" service queries with the right setup.

How important are photos really?

Critical. Listings with active recent photos get significantly more clicks and direction requests. Filipino customers especially want to see authentic photos — the actual interior, the actual team, real customers, real menu items, real before/afters. Stock photos hurt conversions. Photo strategy alone can lift performance materially even without other changes.

How do I get more reviews without breaking Google's rules?

A few proven approaches: post-service SMS or email requests with a direct review link, in-store QR codes that go to the review form, asking happy customers in person at checkout, and never offering incentives (against Google's TOS, can get reviews removed and account flagged). I help design a request flow that fits your customer touchpoints and stays compliant.

Can you respond to reviews in Tagalog?

Yes. For Filipino businesses, most reviews come in a mix of English, Tagalog, and Taglish. Responses should match — professional but human. I provide bilingual response templates customised to your brand voice.

Someone left a fake negative review — what now?

Two-track response. Track 1: report the review to Google with evidence (it doesn't always work, but documented reports do get removed when policy violations are clear). Track 2: post a calm professional public response showing prospective customers you handle issues maturely. Even when a fake review can't be removed, a strong response often turns prospects from skeptical to impressed.

How long until I see map pack improvement?

For underbuilt profiles, 4–8 weeks usually shows meaningful change. For well-established profiles already ranking, gains are slower (3–6 months) but more durable. The map pack is more responsive than regular SERPs because Google heavily weights recency and engagement signals.

How much does GBP management cost in the Philippines?

All services start at $499 USD per month with a one-time $20 admin fee that is fully deductible from the first month invoice. The $20 admin fee is non-refundable. Minimum commitment is 3 months; 6-month and 12-month plans are available. We onboard a maximum of 5 clients per service category at a time. See the Hire Me page for full details.
